What is GaSSO?

In 2008, the Georgia State Assembly enacted the Qualified Education Expense Credit law, thus allowing the creation of non-profit student scholarship organizations to provide financial aid specifically for student scholarships to private schools statewide. Through this program, Georgia taxpayers can designate a portion of their state tax liability to a private school of their choice. By doing so, these taxpayers are then eligible for an income tax credit within the year the tax redirection is made AND a charitable deduction on their federal return. THIS IS NOT A DONATION; it is a re-allocation of your state tax obligation to fund a scholarship, and it can be designated directly to student scholarships at ClearWater Academy. GaSSO is one of the largest, oldest, and most trusted student scholarship organizations in the state and is ClearWater Academy’s chosen partner for scholarship funding through the tax credit program. How can I participate?

Taxpayers can designate certain amounts of tax liability through GaSSO according to credit limitations, depending on how their taxes are filed:

CREDIT LIMITS:

  • Single/individual head of household: UP TO $1,000
  • Married couple filing joint return: UP TO $2,500
  • Married couple filing separate returns: UP TO $1,250
  • Members of an LLC, partners in a Partnership, or shareholders in an S-Corporation: UP TO $10,000 PER INCOME-SHARING MEMBER
  • C-corporation or Trust: UP TO 75% OF INCOME TAX LIABILITY
  • (Note: Taxpayers cannot combine the individual tax credit opportunity with pass-through opportunity.)

For approval to redirect your taxes to support ClearWater Academy and then reap the benefits of the tax returns, take just a few minutes to apply online via GaSSO’s 1-Step Application Process today. THIS IS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO APPLY… GaSSO will take care of the rest until you are approved!

Testimonials:

Participating in GaSSO is simple and mutually beneficial, and we promise it is not too good to be true! Here’s what our past donors are saying about their GaSSO experiences:

“It was as quick and easy as shopping on Amazon!”
“It was easy, I don’t know why I ever procrastinated about it!”
“What a great program!”

The future for ClearWater Academy is bright with your GaSSO support…

This year, our pledging goal is $100,000. Every dollar approved by the Department of Revenue to support ClearWater Academy will go directly toward supporting the scholarship funds for our students with learning differences.
